She is past-president of the Connecticut Association of Senior Center Personnel, a member of the Leadership Group of the National Association of Senior Centers (NISC), chair of the NISC Standards and Accreditation Group and a certified Peer Reviewer and Standards Trainer. She also serves as a member of the executive committee of the Connecticut Elder Action Network (CEAN), the Board of the Commission on Aging, the Americans with Disabilities Act Coalition (ADAAC), and speaks frequently at state and national conferences.
Over the past 10 years, brain training has become big business with computer programs and apps that promise to help us ‘use it or lose it’ as we age. Do these programs actually work? Are there better approaches? How do senior centers bring brain health to participants? And, have we been doing brain fitness all along? This session will explore these questions and be an interactive discussion about brain health in a senior center context.
